Quinta Elizabeth

Quinta Elizabeth is an audio installation conceived specifically for the exhibition Appocundria, curated by Marta Cereda at Casa Testori, Novate Milanese. The installation is an attempt to represent my grandmother Elizabeth’s house by using recurrent elements from my memories, such as a bird cage, mango leaves and an iron sign. The image of the talking parrot, present also in the audio trace, acts as an alter ego, representing my linguistic overlaps and mnemonic removals since I moved to Italy. The installation is accompanied by 3 photographs from the series Aquí vive el presidente, pero el que manda vive enfrente.
